Frequently Asked Questions

What is lure coursing?

Lure coursing involves your dog chasing a mechanically operated lure that is designed to simulate prey’s movement and speed.

My dog is very fast, what if he catches it?

Our luring machine goes up to 70mph!  This is the same machine that is used to lure cheetah’s at the zoos!

Can I do your prey drive training even if my dog has not completed your obedience training programs?

Generally, no.  Unless your dog’s current obedience level is comparable to our training; meaning, they can be outside, off leash, and doing commands reliably.

Do we still have class in bad weather?

Due to our prey drive training being outside, contact us if there will be inclement weather.

What should I bring to my prey drive training lesson?

You should bring water, a water bowl, a standard leash, and a secure collar.

Can I bring friends and family members to watch?

Yes, of course! We would highly encourage it!

Can any age dog do this training?

Yes, for dogs under 1 years old, we make an easier course for the dogs.  We recommend that dogs under one year of age should not participate in our high prey drive training with hard fast turns because they are tough on a dog’s developing joints and until the growth plates are closed, the movements required in sports can cause joint problems later in life. If you are unsure about your dog’s health or growth, as your vet if this training would be suitable for your dog.

Do you let the dogs eventually catch the lure/prey?

With our our prey drive dog training, we do not.  We are training your dog to NOT chase prey items (squirrels, cats, rabbits, small dogs, etc).  If we allow them to “win,” than it reinforces to them the belief that if they try hard enough, they can win.  We want to train them to NOT chase the items, we do not want to reward them with catching the prey.

Do you accept credit card payments?

Yes, we accept all credit cards and ACH.

Do you offer a discount if we sign up for your obedience training, too?

Yes! Email us at [email protected] in order to get a customized quote!

I am interested, but I still have a few more questions?

Great, contact us at [email protected] or 888-413-0896

Could I allow my dog to chase the lure just for fun?

Yes, we could set up a training session and let them chase it for fun, if you aren’t concerned about teaching them to not chase prey.

What form of payments do you accept?

We allow all major credit cards, Paypal, ACH, and we allow payment plans on all programs!
